Fun places to fly in texas?

What are some cool places to fly to in texas within about 100 miles of the houston area? I used to fly in california to places like columbia and monterey were some good places to take the girlfreind, but im in texas now and cant find anywhere cool to fly that has fun things to do without having to have a rental car. I cant get one cuz im 19 unless anyone knows of aplace where theyll let me rent or the FBO will give me a courtesty car. thanks!
