Suggestions for a first car?

You will get good results from a Japanese car. Honda,Toyota and Subaru make good cars and would be great for a first car. I would say Honda Civic, any model except for SI and the year really wont matter. Honda engines are said to be reliable past 300,00km. So if high mileage doesn't bother you , you can usually get a better deal.
