First set of dishes... please help?

I think you were right to ask for "Melmine or heavy plastic" My girls took Corelle and I thot that it would last a long time in the course of 4 years all of it was destroyed or pieces lost with all the moving back and forth. When they got married is when we replaced dishes for them and then they matched their kitchen or dining room. The dishes that you chose are really nice but I gaurentee that they won't last or stay nice for 4 years.
