Hair Products? Answers please!?

I have really thick curly hair and I want a way ot make it not frizzy. Whenever I brush it it always poofs and I do not like that. What would work to refine the curls and make it really smoothe and not frizzy like at all..?? THANKS! I am always straightening my hair but sometimes I just like the curl but I can't wear it down because it looks so..just not right. so please answers!. plus I don't always want to have to keep damaging my hair.
