Why do yankee fans want Texiera so much?

although a met fan, i live in new york and follow the yanks...and believe me this guy should be no doubt number one on their free agent list and it is because they have not had a real 1st baseman since the tino martinez days....they have had jason giambi - andy phillips - tony clark - gary sheffield - wilson betemit - nick johnson - todd zeile - miguel cairo - craig wilson - doug mintkewicz - shelly duncan - richie son ...not one of these players was a proven power hitting 1st baseman during theere tenur with the yankees and this is why they need a 1st baseman for the next 6-10 years
